چکیده

Subspace codes were introduced by Kötter and Kschischang for error control in random linear network coding. In this paper, a layered type of subspace codes is considered, which can be viewed as a superposition of multiple component subspace codes. Exploiting the layered structure, we develop two decoding algorithms for these codes. The first algorithm operates by separately decoding each component code. The second algorithm is similar to the successive interference cancellation (SIC) algorithm for conventional superposition coding, and further permits an iterative version. We show that both algorithms decode not only deterministically up to but also probabilistically beyond the error-correction capability of the overall code. Finally we present possible applications of layered subspace codes in several network coding scenarios. Index Terms Network coding, error correction, subspace codes, superposition coding

Isotropic Constant Dimension Subspace Codes

In network code setting, a constant dimension code is a set of k-dimensional subspaces of F nq . If F_q n is a nondegenerated symlectic vector space with bilinear form f, an isotropic subspace U of F n q is a subspace that for all x, y ∈ U, f(x, y) = 0. We introduce isotropic subspace codes simply as a set of isotropic subspaces and show how the isotropic property use in decoding process, then...

Grassmannian Codes with New Distance Measures for Network Coding

Subspace codes are known to be useful in errorcorrection for random network coding. Recently, they were used to prove that vector network codes outperform scalar linear network codes, on multicast networks, with respect to the alphabet size. In both cases, the subspace distance is used as the distance measure. In this work we show that we can replace the subspace distance with two other possibl...

Cyclic Orbit Codes with the Normalizer of a Singer Subgroup

An algebraic construction for constant dimension subspace codes is called orbit code. It arises as the orbits under the action of a subgroup of the general linear group on subspaces in an ambient space. In particular orbit codes of a Singer subgroup of the general linear group has investigated recently. In this paper, we consider the normalizer of a Singer subgroup of the general linear group a...

On quasi-cyclic subspace codes

Construction of subspace codes with good parameters is one of the most important problems in random network coding. In this paper we present first a generalization of the concept of cyclic subspaces codes and further we show that the usual methods for constructing cyclic subspace codes over finite fields works for m-quasi cyclic codes, namely the subspaces polynomials and Frobenius mappings.

Combining subspace codes with classical linear error-correcting codes

The below paper was written in May 2014. The authors have come to know that there is a significant overlap with previous results by Vitaly Skachek, Olgica Milenkovic, and Angelia Nedic published in July 2011 as arXiv:1107.4581. Their paper entitled “Hybrid Noncoherent Network Coding” appeared in IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, June 2013. We discuss how subspace codes can be used to sim...
